According to my two-year-old daughter, that is. She will not entertain any possibility of assigning Daddy to another bath toy. Will. Not. That’s okay, though – I’m pretty sure Tim secretly self identifies as a cheerful pink duck.
Squiggles has been clinging to her father incessantly since he returned from residency interviews. Whenever I ask for a hug, she says, “No Mommy. I only snuggle with Daddy!”
She adores him and has started referring to him as her husband. We have the following conversation several times a day when Tim is away or at work:
Squiggles: Mommy, where IS my husband? I don’t see him anywhere.
Me: I don’t know. Who is your husband?
Squiggles: My husband name is Tim, Mommy. I need my husband to come back!
They have started a Saturday morning waffle tradition. I am highly in favor.
This morning as they were making waffles, Squiggles decided she needed her princess attire (I’ve given up in my fight against princesses). She then pranced around the kitchen, telling me all the while that she dances “So, so, so, so pretty, Mommy.”
Miss Lily had her 4-month checkup last week. She is 15 pounds, 15 oz., and 25.5 inches long. At her 2-month checkup, she was in the 90+ percentiles for height and weight. Now she’s in the 65-75 percentile for height and weight. Just as cute as ever, though. And a bit of a ham.
While awake, she prefers to be held up in a standing position. I think she considers it undignified to be lying about like a slug.
Oh, wait I forgot one.
“Who’s the orange one?” I asked.
She looked at me like I was certifiably stupid. “This NANA!”

I'm loving the last of the three Squiggles *dancing* pics. So funny! She looks like she's doing some pretty sophisticated hula there! :)
I love the family portrait! Also I love chubby babies and your Lily is a cutie pie for sure! I also love that Squiggles loves her Daddy so much!
She needs two more characters for the other grandparents. Except I'm afraid to see what they might be.
I was really hoping to make it into the family picture, too. I'll even settle for being the faucet.
Your kids are compeletely adorable. Miss Lily can come stand on my lap anytime. And I will wear a princess dress and dance with Squiggles next time I see her.
I literally giggled out loud 57 times while reading this post. I know in my heart that Tim identifies with that pink rubber ducky.
Also, please have your sweet girls come play with Lucy. She bit the face of another baby in nursery today.
Help.
Pretty fun family! I quite enjoyed the family photos and I think Miss Lily is adorable! I'm trying to decide if I'd rather be a duck or a frog.
I also think Miss Squiggles is very creative and thinks outside of some box! She's very beautiful in her princess attire.
I love this post. Especially the part about Tim being a pink, rubber duck. Did you tell Squiggles that it's fitting that you're a frog? Because you used to use frog soap back in the day.
Well...Tim IS cheerful. I love the look on Lily's face in the "standing up" photograph. It makes me want to know what she is thinking.
