I am a doctoral student in Boston who studies infectious diseases in a laboratory. I hardly ever write about that, though.
I'm married to a medical student who is rarely home (and who HATES having his photo taken), and we have two gorgeous daughters. I believe in gentle parenting, and think families are the most important thing in the universe. I love my kids more than any other parent loves their kids. Period. ;-)
I also love the outdoors, and am happiest when surrounded by mountains. My hobbies include mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, reading, road biking, cooking (as a hobby... not-so-much as an everyday lifestyle), listening to music, sewing, and writing.
I have a brother with full-blown schizophrenia, a topic I plan to write about more frequently in the future. I was raised Mormon, but tend not to get into that because... well... it's complicated. Maybe later.
This blog is mostly a forum for me to share pictures and adventures with my parents and family thousands of miles away, but I occasionally wax philosophical and write about current events, my feelings, etc. Friendly comments are welcome. Unfriendly comments are deleted. I have never actually received an unfriendly comment.
