Lily continued to eat like a champion during her second month. By the time we got to her 8-week checkup, she weighed 13 pounds and was 23.5 inches tall – over the 90th percentile for both.
Tim got her to take a binky one night – it didn’t last. She’s really not a fan, sadly.
While we were in Utah, Lily developed some colic-like behaviors. Almost every night – starting at about a month old – she screamed bloody murder for an hour or so… then would drop to sleep suddenly and sleep for five or six hours. Luckily, the screaming fits only lasted about a month. I think maybe she didn’t like onions and chocolate – I stopped eating both, and we haven’t had any problems. She really acted like she was in pain – kind of broke my heart a little every night.
We sure love this little sweetie.
We bought a side-to-side swing. Lily loves it, and we love it because she will sleep in it for hours – without me having to nurse her to sleep! Hurray.
We love this little Buddha belly:
And the quizzical looks we frequently get:
I didn’t notice that Lily’s pants (thanks Lucy) matched the blanket until I place her on it.
One morning at about 5:00 am, I fed Lily, and groggily placed her next to me on the bed. I kind of got the feeling somebody was watching me, so I opened my eyes to see my gorgeous girl giving me an ear-to-ear grin. Her first smile was beautiful, and made me cry, of course. That’s what I do.
But I think my favorite thing ever is to watch her sleep. Like an angel, she dreams away, sighing softly with every breath.

Seriously, nothing is sweeter than a sleeping baby! And she is so cute and chunky! I love chunky babies :)
She is beautiful...awake and asleep.
Lovely little lady! I'm so happy you are enjoying her!
But where did her legs go? I can't even find them on that flower blanket.
