To apple.

Have I mentioned that I hate the city?

On Columbus Day, we sought fresh air and fresh fruit in Harvard, MA at a small farm called Phil’s.    We brought Squiggle’s best buddy Nana (aka Tim’s mom) and paid Phil a ridiculous fee in order to pick his apples for him (I just tell myself the fee is for the pleasure of breathing his non-smoggy orchard air).

Squiggles was beside herself with apple giddiness.  She doesn’t actually eat apples at home, but seemed to take a “when in Rome” stance.

Tim helped her reach the fruit, which she was pretty pleased to be allowed to pick, since she’s not allowed to pick my flowers or herbs.

Did I mention Squiggles and Nana are BFFs?

I like apples as well as the next guy, but mostly I enjoy just walking around.  IN THE FRESH AIR.

I'm so glad you got out of the city for a while. Ironically, Darin and I drove into Salt Lake this weekend, and I sighed wistfully and said, "I miss the city." It's good to visit wherever we're not, huh? Love all the pics of Squiggles! Please continue to enjoy fall in New England for me!

I like that no frills orchard. Apple picking is the best!

*Sigh* That Squiggles is just so darn cute! I love the photos of her eating the apples, holding the apples, picking the apples, and running.. (I like the other photos too, but you should be in some of them)!

I'm with you on the city smog -- blah. Glad you found a good place to enjoy nature and breathe the clean air again; even if it was expensive.

Looks like it's time to move back to the country where you can pick apples for free and breath fresh air whenever you want. We'll take you anytime.

I won't tell you that I needed an apple for my lunch today and so went to the tree, picked one, washed it off, and put it in my lunch box. Squiggles probably has more of an appreciation for that luxury than you did at her age. I do think you liked to eat them!
Also remember that fresh country air sometimes has other qualities than just fresh (like fresh manure)!

She is absolutely adorable and that she takes the "when in Rome" stance.

EVERYTHING is a rip off, and a way of robbery these days I swear! It's not right! Looks like fun though, and little squiggles is the cutest! I'm craving an apple!

Calvin is convinced that we HAVE to go apple-picking this fall. It's just so hard to pay someone to do something that was a chore when you were younger. I hope you chucked all the rotten ones out a play-hut like structure.

Do you get to keep the apples you pick? If yes, then maybe the entry price isn't sooo bad? If not, then it IS ridiculous paying to work. Looks like a storybook apple picking time was had by all.

Bryn types: "That Squiggles is a cutie pututie, especially when she "discovers" that apple. I'm in on the city smog club, here are some bad things about the city: pollution, traffic and buildings blocking out sun.

At our house we have a forest, so of course we can't pick apples, but at least we can enjoy the forest. THAT GIRL IS ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
