Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

Tim was kind enough to make dinner at my place last night - pork chops with an apple cider reduction glaze (the recipe also called for bourbon, but I surprisingly didn't have any on hand). He was whisking quick quick quick (as fast as his hand would allow) and became quite warm so he opened a window despite the winter storm assaulting the easterly parts of the country. The key phrases you should have picked up on thus far are: "opened," "window," "winter," and "storm." Did you see the word "closed" in that list? Nay, you did not. I woke up to a 'feels like' temperature of -86 and was greeted with a kitchen winter wonderland. My cactus is severely upset.

That's awesome! Sounds like something Jennie or I would have done. We miss you, Laura!

Yeah, I've heard that cactus plants are quite dismayed with cold things such as snow. Very silly indeed. I can absolutely see myself doing that.

Let the winter boycott begin. It is seriously time for a spring intervention. Glad to see you are posting again. =)

Hey, at least he's a man who knows his way around the kitchen... Consider yourself a lucky gal. The cactus will get over it!:) It is nice to see a new post from you I have to say.

I think he did it on purpose. Those native Massachusans harbor nothing but evil will toward warm weather and sun-loving flora.

I'm just glad you posted again so I know that you aren't dead under all that snow. And also, I would like Tim to come and cook for me right now!

You're poor cactus. I hope it recovers.

YAY! We have made contact after many moons!! I always wonder how you are doing and I greatly enjoyed reading your blog :) I loved being you and Julie's roommate! Those were good times :)
The bike race was great fun and we are going to another one this weekend in St. George. Mountain biking is basically Dan's one hobbie and love of life (besides me, or course). It's a lot of fun. And I wouldn't argue at all if you came back, you could live in the extra room in our dome-house ;)

I am delighted to see cacti instead of a Christmas tree on your site (it is March)! It sounded like a great meal, though. You can cook for me, Tim!

You know that would happen at my high school when the windows were closed. I'm not making that up. I'm so glad you blogged again. Your blog is one of the most entertaining on the entire World Wide Web. Keep up the good work.
