It’s all fun and games ‘til the moped tips over

To celebrate Lily’s arrival on Earth,

we had ourselves a barbecue in my parents’ ginormous backyard.

At first, things were relatively calm.

There were lots of trampoline tricks, and the kids were super impressed that Bill could jump on the trampoline with his prosthetic leg (no photo, unfortunately).

Then the kids asked for wagon rides. Farmer Darin made a grand appearance and drove the kids around the yard (a Dickey party tradition).

But then somebody left the key around and the kids decided to drive.

Which was actually no big deal… they do it all the time.

Then… Uncle Michael found Lance’s decrepit moped and folks took turns taking a spin about the yard.

Wait… who let the kids drive???

There may have been a small crash of sorts when the moped hit a dip in the lawn.  Rumor has it that the girls flew several feet through the air and that their fathers ran at lightning speed to the site of the crash.  Luckily, the girls walked away with minor scratches and bruises.

Not to be outdone, Squiggles and Lucy also found thrill-riding devices.

But wildest of all was Grandma Lynette.

That is some back yard! Complete with it's own orchard??? Very cool. Love the look on Squiggle's face (the one on the bike) - she looks so happy to be riding a bike like the *big girls.*

I would have liked to have been there for that party. And I'm going to use that moped to take all of my kids camping up Millville Canyon next time we're out.

Looks like a good time was had by all. To echo Joanne, I especially like the look on Aunt Lynette's face, as she seems extremely happy to be riding like the little girls. ;)

What a nice day it was! I enjoyed every minute of it. I don't usually ride trikes. I didn't fit well!
