Last month, we drove 4 hours to go to Long Beach. This month we drove a half hour to Devereux Beach in Marblehead.
Squiggles apparently overcame her fear of enormous bodies of water.
And even splashed around a bit by herself (with me hovering nearby… don’t worry).
She clearly is related to me – is rock collecting genetic?
The water was perfect.
I took Squiggles out and about, and then swam by myself for an hour or so while Tim played with the baby.
Swimming was grand – I’m getting braver, too.
But.
At one point I heard a sort of low grumbling sound, which I decided was probably a shark on his way to eat me. I swam hurriedly to shore and then realized the sound was coming from above.
It was a blimp.

I never got over my fear of sharks and I was in the ocean at least 3 times a week for a year. It's because I know deep down that all sharks want to eat me.
That Squiggles is very cute!
I can see how you could confuse a blimp with a shark. They have lots of similarities. :-)
Very nice day at the beach. And yes, if rock collecting is genetic than Mary Kate and the boys got that gene from you.
Still jealous that you live near so many beaches (four hours is near and half an hour is very near, in my opinion). I'm also glad that you didn't get eaten by a shark. You would be missed very much.
We went to the beach at our house just yesterday. We have two beaches. One on the East side of the ditch and one on the West Side of the ditch. No sharks. No blimps. Just poluted water. But is less poluted that a few years ago. It used to run through 10 barnyards. Now it only runs through four. But your welcome to take the 48 hour drive anytime to visit our beach.
Fun, fun, fun! I love the ocean. I like your swim suit. I also collect rocks. Squiggles is still very cute. Stay away from sharks!
And blimps.
I just got caught up on all the posts I had missed and laughed at every one! The Father's Day one had me teary-eyed :) And the one about Squiggles' rules is hilarious! I love all the photos, too :)
